The Making of the Front Page: Inside Stories from a Night 108 Years in the Making

Nov 29, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Tribune Tower, Chicago, IL
Event Summary

Join Chicago Tribune editors, reporters and photographers at the iconic Tribune Tower for a visual and engaging retelling of how they created the historic front page the day the Chicago Cubs won the World Series — 108 years after their last reign. At last! Building a newspaper Cubs fans could cherish forever required careful planning, pinpoint execution and … a little luck. Hear from the people who made it happen, and get the inside scoop on the images, headlines and pages readers didn’t see.

Sports editor Joe Knowles will lead a discussion and multimedia presentation with sports writer Paul Sullivan, photographer Brian Cassella, photo editors Robin Daughtridge and Steve Rosenberg and page designer Brian MacQueen. Join them for a behind the scenes look for a first hand look at what goes in to creating a one of a kind ‘read all about it’ front page.

Each ticket includes light refreshments and an official Chicago Tribune press plate!
